City of Seattle, WA awards RFP to Questica Budget

Stefan Baerg

With a population of over 700,000, the City of Seattle is upgrading its budgeting processes and systems. The City has selected Questica Budget to meet this mandate.

The largest city in the State of Washington, Seattle sits on Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest. This modern urban city surrounded by natural beauty has a thriving arts, food, cultural and recreational scene. The City also boasts a large high-tech community – the region is the headquarters of both Microsoft and Amazon.

The City issued an RFP and after reviewing the large number of respondents, Questica Budget was determined to be the best solution for their needs. Seattle will benefit greatly from Questica’s innovative and strategic approach to R&D, which ensures their solutions continue to meet the ever-changing needs of local government budgeting, performance, transparency and reporting. The responsiveness of the Questica staff and its reputation for strong customer focus and service were also key deciding factors for the City.

Seattle has purchased Questica Budget (Operating, Salaries, Capital and Performance modules) as well as Questica’s powerful data visualization tool OpenBook. Questica Budget will integrate with the City’s PeopleSoft ERP and ADP human resources systems, providing the City of Seattle with the tools necessary to share key budget information with its council, senior leaders and other departments, as well as its citizens.
